At Chandlee Jewelers, we believe that an educated customer will always end up becoming a lifetime customer, because we take the time to teach a full diamond lesson to each interested person. Many customers tell us that no one else took the time to explain any of the details that we shared with them. Customers tell us that other stores simply did not seem to have the knowledge, the time, nor the Gemological tools to make them feel comfortable in making a purchase as important as the engagement diamond.
We know the reason for this lack of attention is lack of training. It is a true statement to say that you cannot share knowledge about diamonds if you do not have knowledge about diamonds.
When you have taken a Free Diamond Lesson from the Gemologist at Chandlee Jewelers, you will know more about diamonds than the sales clerks at the other stores. Sad, but true.
Typical jewelry stores are staffed by sales clerks who are proficient at reading price tags, and asking “Cash or Credit Card”. You will occasionally run into one which claims to be a “Diamontologist”. This is typically a one week course given by the company upon “promotion” from trainee to Commissioned salesperson, and is heavily oriented on clever sales techniques, not on Gemology.
The reason there are no Microscopes, or Sarin ProportionScopes, or Gran Colorimeters in the average store is there are no trained staff to explain the differences in diamonds to customers. They depend on fooling customers into thinking the sale price is the most important factor, and you must “Act Now”. The more you believe that “This Sale is only for 1 more day”, the less they need to know about diamonds.
